この展示はエレナにとって大切な節目となる。人物ドローイングを中心とした初の個展であり、また日本でのデビュー展示でもある。今回のコレクションは、複数回にわたる実写モデルとのセッションを通して制作された。短時間で素早く描かれたスケッチと時間をかけて描かれた油彩の習作を一緒に展示することで、人体のフォルムとダイナミックさを捉えるという目的が強調されている。
This exhibition marks a significant milestone for Elena: her first showcase of figure drawing and her debut in Japan. The collection was developed across multiple sessions with live models and includes both quick sketches and longer oil studies, presented together to emphasize their shared aims of capturing the forms and dynamics of the human figure.
エレナ・クリモワ/ Elena Klimova
エレナ・クリモワは香港を拠点に活動するロシア出身のアーティスト。ロシアのアブラームツェヴォ美術学校で美術を専攻し、2010年に卒業。
様々な画材や技法を使い、日常生活の中にある美しさを見つけ、表現することを探求している。2011年に香港に引っ越したことは彼女の表現に大きな影響を与えた。自身のアトリエだけで作業するのではなく、色鮮やかな周囲の風景や活気あふれる街の景色を映し出そうと戸外制作を始めた。
人物像は、彼女がとりわけ強く関心を引く主題のひとつである。風景画の中に人物を描くだけでなく、人物そのものを主要なモチーフとしたスケッチやドローイングも数多く制作してきた。彼女の人物デッサンへの熱意は、姿勢や動き、表現の機微をとらえることにつながり、彼女が描く人々の感情や人柄への理解をいっそう深めている。
定期的にクロッキー会やワークショップに参加し、実写モデルとともに制作を重ねることで、より解剖学やプロポーション、人体のフォルムの中にある流れに対する理解を広げている。こうした経験は、技術を洗練させるだけでなく、人の体の運ぶ感情や物語に対して彼女が抱く畏敬の気持ちを深めている。
香港や国外での様々な展示会への参加経験に加え、15年にわたりドローイングやペインティングを教える経験も持つ。
Elena Klimova is a Russian artist based in Hong Kong. She studied Fine Art at Abramtsevo Art College in Russia, where she graduated in 2010.
Working with a variety of materials and techniques, Elena strives to find and depict the beauty of everyday life. Moving to Hong Kong in 2011 significantly impacted her art, leading her to paint not only in her studio but also en plein air, capturing the vibrant surroundings and dynamic atmosphere of the city.
The human figure is one subject that particularly draws Elena's attention. In addition to depicting human figures within her landscapes, she has created countless sketches and drawings where the figure takes precedence as the main subject. This dedication to figure drawing allows her to explore the nuances of posture, movement, and expression, contributing to her understanding of the moods and characters of the people she depicts.
Elena routinely participates in figure drawing sessions and workshops, often collaborating with live models to enhance her understanding of anatomy, proportion, and rhythm in the human form. These experiences not only refine her technical skills but also deepen her appreciation for the emotional narratives each figure can convey.
Besides participating in various exhibitions in Hong Kong and abroad, for the past 15 years, Elena has also been teaching drawing and painting.
